Eldon Hoy joined the Susquehanna coaching staff in 2016 after retiring from the Head Coaching position at Mifflinburg High School. He works primarily with the junior varsity players for the River Hawks and continues to serve as Athletic Director and Director of Student Services at Mifflinburg.

A graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School (1984), he attended Lock Haven University where he majored in Secondary Education Mathematics with a specialization in Computer Science, graduating in 1988. Since then, Hoy has been teaching various mathematics and computer programming courses in the Mifflinburg Area School District. In 2011, he became the Athletic Director and, in 2017, became the district's Director of Student Services.

At Mifflinburg, he coached varsity basketball for 21 years (seven with the girls' program and 14 with the boys' team). In his tenure as head coach of the Mifflinburg Boys' Basketball team, he compiled over 200 wins and won five league championships, culminating in the school's first District IV Championship in the sport of basketball (2011).

Eldon's family includes his wife, Lori, and two children, Zac and Kira. His son Zac was a 1,000-point scorer for Messiah College and after two seasons as a graduate assistant coach, he was retained as an assistant coach for the 2017-18 season.
