JJ Butler joins the Susquehanna University Men’s Basketball coaching staff at the start of the 2018-19 season.

Butler comes to Susquehanna after two years at Chestnut Hill College where he received his Master’s in Administration in Human Services while playing in his final collegiate season before working as an assistant coach during his second year with Chestnut Hill.

Prior to Chestnut Hill, Butler played at Division l Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. He saw action in 53 games, leading his team in assist-to-turnover ratio his freshman season. At Lipscomb, he was a Handcock/Nipper Sportsmanship Award Recipient during the 2014-15 season. Butler earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Corporate Management in 2016.

As well as being an assistant coach, Butler will be the recruiting coordinator for the River Hawks.
