Mike Burns

Mike Burns completed his 13th year as an assistant lacrosse coach for Susquehanna in 2018, continuing his work with the defense under head coach Stewart Moan. The defensive unit in 2018, led the nation in man-down goals allowed and was the Landmark Conference's top defensive unit.

As a men's lacrosse player for Whittier College, he was a letterwinner on a defense that ranked third in the nation by US Lacrosse. Whittier allowed the lowest number of goals in Division III during the 2000 season.

Upon his graduation from Whittier in 2002 with a bachelor of arts in child development and psychology, he returned to the east coast as a youth pastor while coaching his local club lacrosse team.

A native of Maryland's eastern shore, Burns attended Queen Anne's County High School. At Queen Anne's, his lacrosse team contended for the state 3A/4A title his sophomore, junior and senior years. He lettered a combined eight times in lacrosse, wrestling and football throughout his high school years.

Burns is currently working on a Masters in Theological Studies through Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.
