Brad Shaeffer joined the Susquehanna University football coaching staff in the spring of 2026 to coach the offensive line. Shaeffer started his coaching career at his alma mater Slippery Rock University, where he contributed to two deep playoff runs as a player, going as far at the NCAA Division II Semifinals in 2019. That year he served on an offensive line that ranked second in the nation in first downs, third in scoring, fifth in passing yards per game, eighth in red zone efficiency and ninth in total offense.
He began coaching in the fall of 2021 and was with Slippery Rock until the summer of 2024, receiving his Master’s in Public Health; Health Promotion and Wellness. Throughout his coaching run with “The Rock” the team continued their dominance, making the NCAA Tournament and winning the PSAC West every year from 2021 to 2023, while coaching two Don Hansen All-Americans in back-to-back seasons. Shaeffer moved on to fellow PSAC program Millersville University, coaching the Marauders from 2024 to 2025. His first season with the River Hawks will be his seventh season coaching.
