Ryan Redfern '11, an accomplished golf alum, was named the head men’s golf coach in the summer of 2024. The River Hawks have made tremendous strides in recent years under his direction and leadership.

During the 2025-2026, Redfern directed the men to two tournament wins, five top 3 finishes, including breaking the school record for lowest team round in a tournament at the Dickinson Fall Invitational (576). The team was consistently able to compete with some of the top teams in the Middle Atlantic.

Redfern, a former student-athlete, competed on the team from 2007 to 2011 and served as team captain in 2011. As a student-athlete, Redfern earned a career scoring average of 78.2 and was Second Team All-Empire 8 in 2010, when the team also won the conference championship.

He graduated in 2011 with a B.A. in Political Science and served as a football and basketball coach at Millburn H.S. in New Jersey. Redfern also taught social studies and business at nearby Union H.S. for seven years.

The Caldwell, N.J., native joined the Susquehanna football staff as an assistant coach in 2018 and worked primarily with the outside linebackers, helping coach a pair of River Hawks to All-Centennial Conference honors.
