Junior running back Da’Avian Ellington helped reclaim the Stagg Hat Trophy for the River Hawks in a 42-26 victory at home against  Lycoming in the team’s first game of the season.
Ellington led the River Hawks with 13 carries for 179 yards, including a pair of 60-plus runs that resulted in two touchdowns. Currently he leads the Centennial Conference in rushing yards (179), rushing yards per game (179), and yards per rush (13.8).
For his performance, Ellington was selected to the season’s first D3football.com Team of  the Week. He was also selected as the Men's River Hawk of the Week.
The River Hawks travel to Baltimore this weekend to take on No. 7 Johns Hopkins in the conference opener.
