Junior right-side hitter Sydney Portale helped power the River Hawks to a 3-0 record at the Randolph-Macon Invite this past weekend in Ashland, Virginia.
Portale totaled 37 kills in the three games, averaging 3.7 kills per set. She also tied her season-high 16 kills in the River Hawks’ win against Averett, as well as her season-high 4 blocks in the same match. The Glen Mills, Pa. native had double-digit kill performances in all of the River Hawks’ matches this past weekend.
For her performance, Portale was named to the Randolph-Macon Invite All-Tournament Team. Portale has also earned the Women’s River Hawk of the Week for her efforts.
The team has their first home game September 10th at 7 p.m. against Dickinson.
