Sophomore Quarterback Michael Ruisch helped lead the River Hawks to a 27-28 upset win over No. 7 John’s Hopkins University this past Saturday. The River Hawks offense went over 70 yards on three drives in the fourth quarter and put up 21 points to erase a 24-7 deficit. For his performance, Ruisch has won River Hawk Athlete of the Week.

Ruisch had a career day against the Blue Jays on Saturday, completing a career-high 25 passes on a season-best 42 attempts for 287 yards and two touchdowns. The sophomore QB also rushed seven times and caught a pass for 27 yards. Ruisch excelled in managing the offense in the 4th quarter, including a 10-play, 99-yard touchdown drive.

Following this performance, Ruisch leads the Centennial Conference in passing yards per game (290.5) and total passing yards (581) while ranking second in TD’s (4) and third in pass completion percentage (59.7%). Along with River Hawk of the week, Ruisch’s performance has also earned him Centennial Offensive Player of the Week honors.
