Junior Right-Side Hitter Sydney Portale helped the River Hawks Volleyball squad go 3-0 during their games on Friday, September 27th and Saturday, September 28st, against Stevens, Hunter and #20 Wesleyan. With the victory against #20 Wesleyan, this marks the 4th victory over ranked opponents for the River Hawks

Portale led the team in two of the three matches in kills, totaling 43 over the tournament. Portale also managed 3 blocks throughout the tournament for the River Hawks. Her best statistical performance came against Stevens with 18 kills and 2 blocks. Following the tournament, Portale is now tied for being the team leader in kills (220) and is third for blocks (33).

For her efforts, Portale has been named River Hawk Athlete of the Week. Her and the rest of the Volleyball squad continue their quest to being ranked with matchups against McDaniel, Goucher and Elizabethtown this upcoming week.
