Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey Takes Down Wilson

Hunter Pitman scored two goals while Heather Casey, Sam Banks, and Maddie Taylor each added a goal as the Susquehanna University Field Hockey team dominated Wilson College from start to finish in a 5-0 shutout victory Thursday evening at Sassafras Field in Selinsgrove.

The River Hawks (3-4), got on the board less than five minutes into the game when Pitman ended up behind a ball that took several deflections in the box before finding her stick. She tucked away the finish and gave the team an early 1-0 lead.

Wilson (1-2) managed three shots in the period but were unable to score.

In the 22nd minute, Susquehanna was able to double the lead on a goal by Taylor on an assist by Katie Koch and they took a 2-0 lead into halftime, outshooting the Phoenix 17-3 in the process.

The River Hawks continued to dominate in the second half, scoring three more times to cement a 5-0 victory.

Pitman scored in the 43rd minute to extend the lead, Banks added another and Casey capped off the game with a goal in the 64th minute.

Susquehanna outshot Wilson 35-9 in the contest and had 15 penalty corners to the Phoenix eight. Emily DiGaetano had seven saves in goal.

The River Hawks begin Landmark Conference action Saturday when they travel to Elizabethtown. The game is set to start at 1 p.m.
