Towson, Md. – The Susquehanna University women's basketball team picked up their first Landmark Conference win of the season Saturday afternoon in dominating fashion. Susquehanna (4-8, 1-1 LC) posted a 78-51 victory over the host Goucher College Gophers (5-8, 0-2 LC), snapping a seven-game skid and handing the hosts their second straight loss.

How It Happened
- It was a slow start for both teams until Kerry Chun made a jump shot at 8:55 for the first basket of the game and Goucher's only lead of the contest. The River Hawks would roll out a 22-6 run to stake a 14-point advantage at the end of the first 10-minute period.
- Sophomores Nevin Hoenninger (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and Alanna Connolly (Whitehouse Station, N.J./Hunterdon) paced SU in the high-scoring first quarter with six points each while freshman guard Sadie Comfort (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) added five.
- Susquehanna extended its lead to as many as 20 in the second quarter as sophomore guard Erin McQuillen (Cresskill, N.J./Cresskill) could not miss from downtown, knocking down four consecutive three-pointers. The River Hawks would head into halftime with a 38-21 lead as McQuillen lead all scorers with 14 points on 5-of-5 shooting from the field.
- SU continued its dominance in the second half, scoring 20 points in each frame to wrap up its first conference win of the season. Sophomore guard Alexa Petrozzino (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park) came off the bench in the second half to pace the River Hawks with 11 points in seven minutes.
Inside the Box Score
- McQuillen recorded her third 20-point game of the season as she finished with a game-high 22 points, connecting on career-bests of eight field goals (8-of-10) and six three-pointers (6-of-7). She also added eight rebounds and a career-high four blocks.
- Hoenninger notched her second straight double-digit scoring performance with 10 points while chipping in five boards, three assists and three steals.
- In just her fifth game of the season, Petrozzino rounded out the double-digit scorers for SU with her career-best 11 points on the strength of a career-high three triples.
- Susquehanna was one point shy of its season-high in points (79 at Wilkes on 11/13/18).
- Anise Williams paced the Gophers with 20 points while Nicole Wolard contributed 13 points and a game-best nine caroms in Goucher's second loss in a row.
