Pitman Records Second Hat Trick as Field Hockey Dominates Cabrini

 
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Senior captain Hunter Pitman (White Haven, Pa./Crestwood) was able to score her second hat trick of the season to lead the River Hawks to a 6-1 victory over Cabrini University Wednesday evening in the non-conference matchup.

How It Happened
  • Pitman was able to find the back of the cage first for the River Hawks in the first quarter drilling a ball from the top of the circle.
  • Junior forward Maddie Taylor (Worton, Md. / Kent County) scored just over two minutes later off an assist from Kelsey Murray (Woodbine, Md. / Howard) to put Susquehanna up 2-0.
  • The River Hawks were able to add two more goals before the half, both from Pitman, assisted by Murray and first-year Bailey Dean (Harrington, De. / Lake Forest).
  • Junior Jenn Sabbak (Little Falls Nj./Passaic Valley) tallied the fifth goal for the River Hawks just three minutes into the third quarter after going 1 v. 1 with the goalie at the post.  
  • Katie Koch (West Milton, Pa. / Lewisburg Area) was the final goal scorer for SU as she got a break away and ripped a shot from the top of the circle.
  • The Cavaliers' Lauren Vanstone was able to score with just 25 seconds remaining in the game to pick up her first goal of the season.
  • The goalie team of Veronice Green (Slatington, Pa. / Northern Lehigh), Mackenzie Bross (Perkasie, Pa. / Pennridge) and Ava Kristich (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra Area) combined for six saves in the contest.

  • Susquehanna was able to force seven corners to Cabrini's six while outshooting the Cavaliers 20-8.
  • The Cavaliers finished the game with five goalie saves and 1 defensive save.

  • Pitman had three goals on five shots bringing her total to 17.
  • Taylor picked up her first goal of the season while Koch scored her third and Sabbak scored her fourth.
  • Dean picked up her first assist and Murray picked up her first and second.  
  • Lauren Vanstone scored her first goal of the season while had a Lindsey Pozaic defensive save while goalkeeper Noelia Ramirez had five saves.
