Lancaster, Pa. – Senior attackman
Jack Donnelly (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) put up four points Wednesday afternoon as the Susquehanna University men's lacrosse team faced their first Top 20 team of the season. Susquehanna (2-1) suffered its first loss of 2019, dropping a 13-6 decision to No. 20 Franklin & Marshall College (2-1) in non-conference action.

How It Happened
- It was a high-scoring first quarter as the two sides combined for eight goals.
- Sophomore attackman Colton Dick (Owings, Md./Northern) drew first blood with an unassisted tally two minutes in. F&M responded less than a minute later before sophomore midfielder Tyler Humphrey (Andover, N.J./Pope John XXIII) gave the River Hawks a 2-1 advantage at 10:58 off a Donnelly assist. The Diplomats then went on a 4-0 run to take over the lead for good, leading 5-2 at 3:57. Donnelly scored his first of the day with 11 seconds left to cut the lead to 5-3.
- F&M notched the first two goals of the second period to build a four-goal cushion at 10:31. The River Hawks pulled within three at halftime on Donnelly's second goal as senior captain Jake Smolokoff (Oceanport, N.J./Red Bank Regional) assisted on the play.
- After the Diplomats scored a man-up goal to start the third frame, junior attackman Brian Hewett (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) tallied his first goal of the season as SU came within 8-5 at 7:04.
- Franklin & Marshall then went on a 5-0 run which started at 6:21 of the third and was capped by Kevin Mollihan's seventh tally of the afternoon, a man-up goal with 3:31 left in the game for a 13-5 Diplomat advantage.

- The Diplomats outshot Susquehanna, 41-22, and dominated the ground ball battle, 45-18. F&M also won 17-of-22 face-offs to control the tempo of the game and scored on three of its four extra-man opportunities.
Top Performers
- Donnelly finished with season-highs of three goals and four points while senior midfielder Jack DiGregorio (Cutchogue, N.Y./Mattituck) dished out a career-best two helpers.
- Senior captain Dylan Abplanalp (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) came up with a season-best 17 saves and a team-high three ground balls.
- Mollihan led all scorers with nine points on seven goals and two assists while Timmy Hoarty posted 17-of-22 wins at the X with a game-best 10 ground balls.
