Klair Reaches Two Milestones for Women’s Lacrosse in Contest Against Lebanon Valley

Senior Attack Brooke Klair reached the century mark in career points and draw controls while tallying two goals and three assists, but the Susquehanna University Women's Lacrosse team dropped a 23-9 decision to Lebanon Valley after a tough second half at Sassafras Field in Selinsgrove.

How It Happened
  • The Dutchmen (1-1) scored the first two goals of the contest, but it was the River Hawks (0-2) who looked strong in the early going. Helena Woytovich scored back-to-back goals on feeds from Klair, and Klair added a goal of her own on an assist by Stephanie Dowling as the team took a 3-2 advantage.
  • The middle portion of the half went back-and-forth between the two sides. Gabi Toohey, Alison Heimer and Christine Hoerman all scored as the Dutchmen maintained a 7-6 lead with six minutes remaining in the period. Over the final stretch, Lebanon Valley rattled off four unanswered goals to get some separation at the break.
  • Kathrina Demaio gave the River Hawks a good start to the second half with a goal, but the Dutchmen would score three more times before Klair would stop the run. Trailing 14-8, Susquehanna saw Lebanon Valley step up its play and rattle off nine consecutive goals over the course of the second half.
  • In the closing seconds of the game, Stephanie Dowling scored a goal to give the team some positive momentum heading into the weekend, but the team dropped this one, 23-9.
