Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse | | David Johnson

Klair, Hoerman, Dex Power Women’s Lacrosse Past Lycoming

Brooke Klair scored six goals and added two assists and Katie Hoerman scored four times with an assist as Libby Dex made 16 saves and the Susquehanna University Women's Lacrosse team came away with a 20-14 victory over Lycoming College Saturday afternoon in Selinsgrove.

How It Happened
  • The River Hawks (1-2) started strong, scoring the first four goals of the game. Katie Hoerman scored twice with Klair and Kathrina Demaio netting one apiece. The Warriors (0-2) would score five of the next six goals sandwiched around another Demaio score to tie the game at five.
  • The remainder of the half went by with both sides getting action on the offensive side of the ball, but small runs by the River Hawks kept them in the lead and in control. Gabi Toohey, Helena Woytovich and Christine Hoerman all got in on the action and Susquehanna mounted a 12-8 lead at the break.
  • The Warriors were able to score the last two goals of the first period and maintained momentum with a goal in the early going of the second half. At the 25:04 mark, Toohey scored a free position goal to give the team much needed breathing room and Katie Hoerman followed it up with a goal on a feed from her older sister, Christine Hoerman.
  • Lycoming bounced back to stay within three goals, but Susquehanna always had an answer. Toohey and Christine Hoerman scored and Klair notched the 20th and final goal for the River Hawks as the team mounted a 20-13 advantage before taking a 20-14 victory.
