Stephanie Dowling and Gabi Toohey had three goals apiece as nine River Hawks got on the score sheet and the Susquehanna University Women's Lacrosse team handled Elmira College and won 16-4 Thursday afternoon in Selinsgrove.
 
How It Happened
 

• The River Hawks (2-4) set the tone early, scoring the first seven goals of the contest to set the top and essentially take the Soaring Eagles (0-5) out of the game.
• Toohey, Dowling, and Helena Woytovich all scored over that dominating stretch as Kathrina Demaio and Tori Lombardi registered assists. Elmira would score two goals in a row to give themselves a glimmer of hope, but Susquehanna then kicked it into gear and scored four unanswered goals to close the half.  Lombardi , Emily Hoff and Bella Ferriso got in on the action with goals.
• The second period opened similarly to the first, as Hoff and Ferriso added their second scores of the game and Nicole Hauck added a goal.
• Elmira would score twice in the final 30 minutes, but it was way too little too late for the Soaring Eagles and the River Hawks took this one, 16-4. Dowling and all-Landmark defender Mary Vilardi rounded out the scoring for Susquehanna.

 
Inside the Box Score
 

• Dowling and Toohey had three goals apiece as Woytovich, Hoff and Ferriso added two.
• Alison Heimer picked up six ground balls to lead the team. Libby Dex and Vilardi each had four.
• Heimer also led with six draw controls. Kaitlin Homberg had three. The River Hawks dominated in that category at 15-7.
• Libby Dex made one save in net, as the Soaring Eagles did convert on their few opportunities.
