Dowling, Hauck Help Women’s Lacrosse Power Past Goucher

Stephanie Dowling tallied four goals as well as four assists and Nicole Hauck scored a season high five goals as the Susquehanna University Women's Lacrosse team took control early and defeated Goucher 19-10 Saturday afternoon at Sassafras Field in Selinsgrove.

How It Happened
  • Right from the start, the River Hawks (6-7 Overall, 2-3 Landmark) jumped out to a 6-0 lead and never looked back. Hauck scored twice while Dowling, Alison Heimer, Helena Woytovich and Katie Hoerman all scored.
  • The Gophers (7-7, 0-5) would find their footing, but not before Susquehanna expanded its lead to 9-1 after goals by Hauck, Woytovich, and Kathrina Demaio. Trailing by eight goals, Goucher made its push with four straight goals and five of six goals scored to get within 10-6 but Hauck scored in the final minutes to expand the advantage to five at the break.
  • The second half saw Susquehanna pour it on early, and maintain the edge late. Leading 11-6, the team would score six of the half's first seven goals en route to a 17-7 score. Demaio and Dowling led the charge for the River Hawks over that stretch.
  • Goucher would net three goals late, but Susquehanna coasted to a 19-10 victory to win its second straight game.
