Brittany Hebda (Kingston, Pa./Holy Redeemer) smacked a two-run home run to lead the Susquehanna University softball team to a Landmark Conference sweep Saturday afternoon on Senior Day. Susquehanna (13-10, 4-4 LC) extended its win streak to five with 8-6 and 5-2 triumphs over Drew University (10-22, 1-7 LC).

How It Happened
- Junior captain Kasey Bost (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) and senior outfielder Jill Ahrens (Clarence, N.Y./Sacred Heart) each crossed home plate in the bottom of the first inning on a fielding error by the shortstop with two outs on the board to give the River Hawks in early 2-0 lead.
- SU tacked on two more runs in the fourth for a 4-0 advantage as freshman pinch runner Katie Welker (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) scored on a wild pitch while freshman infielder Erin Bean (Watchung, N.J./Watchung Hills) came home on Ahrens' RBI single. Drew got out of the inning with a double play.
- The Rangers responded in the top of the fifth with four runs to draw even, tallying a run on a one-out wild pitch and recording another on an SU fielding error while Sophie Sirota connected on a two-out, two-RBI single up the middle.
- Susquehanna broke the 4-4 stalemate in its half of the fifth with four runs of its own. Sophomore outfielder Katherine Fahsbender (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII) drove in freshman infielder Kiara Bryant (Allentown, Pa./Parkland), who lead off the inning with a triple, before three consecutive RBI doubles helped the hosts double up on Drew, 8-4.
- Drew got two back in the sixth thanks to Paxtan Perry's two-out, two-RBI double.
- After a lead-off single, Cara O'Leary retired the River Hawk side in order in the sixth.
- Gonzalez bookended the seventh with a pair of strikeouts to seal the River Hawks' two-run win.

- Susquehanna's eight runs came off 13 hits, two walks, and one Ranger error. The River Hawks also collected four extra base hits, including three doubles.
- The Rangers notched their four runners on 11 hits and one SU error.
Top Performers
- Gonzalez moved to 5-3 on the season as she pitched the complete game win, giving up six runs (five earned) on 11 hits. She struck out a career-high nine batters with no walks. Gonzalez helped her own cause by going 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and an RBI.
- Bean, Bost, Ahrens, and Fahsbender all finished with two hits while Bean scored two runs.
- Four different Rangers each had two hits while Perry and Sirota each drove in two runs.

How It Happened
- Susquehanna scored a single run in the bottom of the first and then two each in the second and third innings to boast a 5-0 advantage through three innings.
- Hebda's one-out, two-run dinger highlighted the second inning. This home run was the second of the season as well as her career.
- The Rangers cut the lead to 5-1 in the top of the fourth as Jasmine Vera lead off the inning with a double and then came home on Adriana Rodriguez's two-out RBI single up the middle. With runners on first and second, Sirota hit a single to centerfield but Bost fired in a laser to get Rodriguez out at home for the last out of the inning.
- Drew got one more run in the seventh as Renata Primmer hit a blooper to score Katie Grodski. Junior Amanda Seckinger (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown) preserved the win for the River Hawks by getting the No. 8 and No. 9 hitters to fly out and foul out, respectively.

- SU was limited to five runs on seven hits and one walk, including two extra-base hits, while the River Hawks made no errors.
- The Rangers tallied seven hits and drew one walk but committed three errors.
Top Performers
- Bost paced the River Hawks in the nightcap as she went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, a double, and a stolen base while Hebda brought home two runs and scored once.
- Seckinger remains undefeated in the pitching circle with a 5-0 record after allowing two runs (both earned) on seven hits with three strikeouts and one walk.
- Vera and Sirota each went 2-for-3 to lead Drew at the plate.
