Towson, Md. – The Susquehanna University men's lacrosse team used a balanced team effort in collecting their fifth consecutive victory Saturday afternoon. Susquehanna (9-6, 3-1 LC) moved into a two-way tie for third in the Landmark Conference standings with its 17-8 road win over Goucher College (4-9, 0-5 LC).
Freshman attackman
Jack McLaughlin (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) led all point-getters with a season-best six points on one goal and a season-high five assists. Junior midfielder
Kyle Watts (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) and sophomore attackman
Colton Dick (Owings, Md./Northern) paced all goal-scorers with four goals each.
Dick, who finished with five points, set the school's single-season record for most points as he now has 69 so far this season on 36 goals and 33 assists. He had tied the record of 64 (29g, 35a) established by
Austen Lein '14 on Tuesday with seven points in the win at Marywood University.

How It Happened
- Susquehanna used a strong second half to break open a 9-7 game, outscoring the host Gophers, 8-1, in the final 30 minutes.
- The River Hawks turned around a 5-3 deficit by scoring three goals in a span of one minute and 18 seconds to stake a 6-5 margin at the end of one quarter.
- The two sides traded goals and Goucher tied the game twice before McLaughlin assisted on back-to-back goal to give SU a 9-7 halftime advantage.
- Senior captain Dan Murphy (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) netted his first career goal at 13:01 of the third frame to stretch Susquehanna's lead to three. Mason Gorman pulled the Gophers within 10-8 at 10:11 before the River Hawks rattled seven unanswered scores to secure their third league win of the season.
- Defensively, SU killed all five of Goucher's extra-man opportunities while limiting the Gophers to single-digit shot totals in the first and third periods.

- Junior attackman Michael Hatala (Glen Cove, N.Y./Glen Cove) contributed his second career hat trick with a career-high three goals while adding an assist and a ground ball.
- Senior midfielder Jack Gerrity (Scotch Plains-Fanwood, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) chipped in a goal and a career-best three assists while senior captain Jake Smolokoff (Oceanport, N.J./Red Bank Regional) added two goals and an assist plus a season-high three ground balls.
- Senior captain Dylan Abplanalp (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) came up with 21 saves, two ground balls, and a caused turnover in 56:13 before junior Josh Weaver (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) stepped on the field to finish the game with a save.
- Jared Heath and Andrew Sade paced the Gophers with two goals each while Sam Gravel scooped up seven ground balls and caused three turnovers in Goucher's sixth straight loss.
