How It Happened
Â
- The Rangers (16-13 Overall, 6-6 Landmark) clubbed an early two-run home run in the first inning to take the lead. The River Hawks (15-11, 12-3) threatened and finally scored in a big way in the fourth inning, tallying four runs. Miller, Anthony Dombrowski and Corrado all picked up RBI to give the team the lead.
- Drew responded in the home half of the inning, plating five more runs to take a 7-4 advantage. Two runs in the fifth and a run in the sixth for Susquehanna temporarily tied the game, but a big there-run home run by the Rangers made it 10-7.
- The River Hawks chipped away at the lead in the seventh, plating two runs on a wild pitch and another Dombrowski RBI single, and stepped on the gas in the eighth and ninth innings to run away with this one.
- Burman got it going with a game-tying home run in the eighth, followed by a Corrado RBI single to bring in Yarem to take the lead. Dombrowski reached on an error to extend it to 12-10 before the bottom of the eighth.
- Will Carey pitched a clean eighth, the team scored four runs in the top of the ninth , and Carey capped off a strong weekend with another scoreless inning to help the team come out victorious.
