Wilkes-Barre, Pa. – Sophomore third baseman
Brittany Hebda (Kingston, Pa./Holy Redeemer) went 3-for-5 on the day with four RBI, three doubles, and two runs in leading the Susquehanna University softball team to an out-of-conference sweep Monday afternoon. Susquehanna (18-13) handed the host King's (Pa.) College Monarchs (16-17) a 7-2 and a 6-4 setback.

How It Happened
- The Monarchs posted a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning thanks to a sacrifice fly to centerfield by Gabriella Medina.
- Kris Kocher silenced the Susquehanna bats through the first three innings, keeping the River Hawks hitless.
- Hebda cleared the bases in the top of the fourth inning with a two-out double to left center to give the River Hawks their first lead of the game at 3-1. Then freshman second baseman Erin Bean (Watchung, N.J./Watchung Hills), the leadoff hitter, widened the gap to 5-1 with a two-RBI single to leftfield.
- SU gained a five-run cushion in the sixth inning when Hebda struck again, sending a double to centerfield to bring home sophomore outfielder Katherine Fahsbender (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII), who led off the inning with a single to left center.
- Freshman infielder Kiara Bryant (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) extended the lead to 7-1 in the seventh with a single up the middle which allowed junior outfielder Kasey Bost (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) to come home.
- King's got one more in its half of the seventh as Mindina Lieback connected on an RBI single to centerfield to score Mackenzie Yori, who had a two-out double to left center.

- For the 10th time this season, Susquehanna notched double-digit hits as the River Hawks scored seven runs on 10 hits, including two doubles, three walks, and two Monarch errors.
- The River Hawks left only four base runners stranded.
- King's put up two runs on eight hits, including one double, and one walk.
Top Performers
- Hebda finished 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run while senior designated player Jill Ahrens (Clarence, N.Y./Sacred Heart) and sophomore shortstop Kody Streeter (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) both went 2-for-4 with a run.
- Sophomore Gabby Bubba (Jefferson, N.J./Pope John XXIII) recorded the complete game win to move to 4-2 this season. Bubba gave up two runs (both earned) on eight hits as she struck out one and walked one. She retired the side in order in the second, fifth, and sixth innings.
- Lieback paced the Monarchs at the plate with a 3-for-4 effort and one RBI.

How It Happened
- King's once again claimed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning as Kristi Ann Skok drove in a run with a two-out single to right center.
- The River Hawks responded with another five-run inning, notching five scores in the top of the second inning. Fahsbender started the scoring with a one-out single to bring home Hebda, who doubled as the second hitter of the inning, and even the score at 1-1. Streeter then had an RBI double to leftfield to score Fahsbender and put SU ahead 2-1. Streeter crossed home plate on Bean's two-out single to left center before a King's error in right field allowed two more runs to score and grow the advantage to 5-1.
- Susquehanna tacked on its final run in the third when Fahsbender's single brought home Bryant, who lead off the inning with a single up the middle and then advanced to second on Hebda's sacrifice bunt.
- The Monarchs cut the deficit to 6-2 with a run in their half of the third as Yori came home on a sacrifice bunt after leading off the inning with a single, stealing second and going to third on Lieback's single.
- King's looked to rally in the seventh putting two more runs on the board on Taylor Norris' two-out, two RBI single to right center. Norris then went to second on a wild pitch and Skok drew a walk before Medina hit a game-ending fly out to right field.

Top Performers
- Fahsbender was the only River Hawk with multiple hits as she closed out the game with a 2-for-3 performance, hitting a double, driving in two runs, and crossing home plate once.
- Senior captain Alexa Gonzalez (Northport, N.Y./Northport) won her second straight appearance as Gonzalez recorded her fourth complete-game victory. She allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits with three walks. The win puts her at 7-4 this season.
- Lieback once again the Monarchs at the plate as she went 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
