Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women’s Lacrosse Drops Road Contest to Moravian

Kathrina Demaio netted three goals, eclipsing the 100 career points plateau and Brooke scored a goal and tallied three assists, but the Susquehanna University Women's Lacrosse had a slow start and fell by a score of 19-9 to Moravian Saturday afternoon in Bethlehem.

How It Happened
  • The Greyhounds (7-4 Overall, 2-1 Landmark) opened the game with six straight goals to take a commanding lead before two straight by the River Hawks (4-7, 0-3) would score back-to-back goals to cut into the deficit. The first was scored by Gabi Toohey on a feed from Klair and Demaio scored the other on an assist by Katie Hoerman.
  • Moravian responded with two more goals of its own, but Susquehanna scored another two by Demaio and Stephanie Dowling. Trailing 8-4, Moravian scored twice more to take a 10-4 lead into the locker room.
  • Helena Woytovich and Demaio scored early in the second half, but the Greyhounds continued their strong play and never looked back.
  • Kate Hoerman, Kaitlin Homberg and Brooke Klair all scored down the stretch, but the Greyhounds put in the final four goals to put this one out of reach and won 19-9.
Inside the Box Score

  • Libby Dex made 17 saves and scooped up seven ground balls. Alison Elf and Mary Vilardi picked up four ground balls apiece. Elf also led the way with three caused turnovers.
