Volleyball Drops Two at Doubletree Invitational
PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Susquehanna University volleyball team fell to both Mount Union (2-3) and Muskingum (1-3) at the Doubletree Invitational Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
- The Raiders merely edged past Susquehanna in the back and forth five set match, as the fifth set was decided by a score of 18-16.
- In the first set, Mount Union gained a quick lead that the River Hawks couldn't recover from, winning 25-16.
- SU turned the tables in set two, taking down the Raiders 25-18, recording 14 kills and a .308 attack percentage.
- Sets three and four were decided by a mere four points as Mount Union took set three 27-25 and SU took set four 28-26, to force a fifth set.
- The Raiders would take the fifth set 18-16 despite 10 kills from the River Hawks.

- Sydney Portale (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) led the team against Mount Union in kills with 19 while first year Rosina Esposito (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) had 15.
- Veronica Kirchner (Drexel Hill, Pa./ Monsignor Bonner-Prendergast) lead the team with five block while Kody Dillon (Bear, De./Caravel Academy) and Portale added four each.
- Senior setter Lindsey Pugh (Bear, Del./Caravel Academy) dominated all players with 49 assists while junior libero Lizzie Herestofa (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) recorded a team-best 14 digs.
- Mount Union's leaders were Madelin DiBease with 17 kills, Katie May with 32 assists, and Alyssa Kasaris with 30 digs.
Susquehanna 1, Muskingum 3
How It Happened
- Susquehanna fell to Muskingum (10-1) in four sets despite being comparable to the Muskies in every offensive category. Muskingum's efficiency on attack allowed them to slip past the River Hawks for the win.
- The River Hawks fell to a quick deficit they were unable to come back from and lost the first set 25-16.
- Muskingum edged Susquehanna by only three points, 25-22, in the second set by securing the final two points of the set.
- Susquehanna gain the final three points in set three on errors by the Muskies to secure a 27-25 victory, forcing a fourth set.
- Three different Muskies recorded kills to lead Muskingum past the River Hawks in the 25- 18 victory
Inside the Box Score
- Esposito and Protale paced the River Hawks with 15 and 11 kills respectively.
- Pugh collected a match-best 38 assists while Herestofa tallied a match-best 24 digs.
- Maddie McGee finished the match with 11 kills while Erin Dickson put up a team-best 29 assists.
