SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna University men's basketball team put together a 41-point turnaround, turning a 21-point deficit into a 20-point Landmark Conference victory over visiting Goucher College (2-10, 0-2 LC). River Hawks guards
Lukas Yurasits (New York, N.Y./Berkeley Carroll) and
Bryce Butler (Abingdon, Md./Suffield Academy) each dropped 19 points to lead Susquehanna (9-4, 2-0 LC) to a 87-67 victory to remain undefeated in conference play.

How It Happened
First Half
- Butler got things started for the River Hawks, draining a three-pointer out of the gate to take an early 3-0 lead; however, Goucher responded with a 26-4 run over the next 7:30 to claim a 26-7 advantage at 12:31.
- Susquehanna would respond with a three-pointer by junior guard Matt LaCorte (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) to cut the River Hawk deficit to 16. Both teams would go scoreless over the next three minutes, prior to a second sprint by the Gophers. A Mal Graham triple with 3:54 to go in the first half gave Goucher its largest lead of the game at 41-20.
- The River Hawks would put together a 9-0 run over the final three minutes to cut the halftime deficit to 12 at 41-29.
Halftime
- Goucher held a 64-percent to 37.9-percent shooting advantage over Susquehanna in the first half. In addition, the Gophers owned the boards, taking a 21-8 advantage into the break.
- The River Hawks' defense kept them in the game, forcing Goucher into 13 first-half turnovers.
- Butler paced Susquehanna with seven points on 3-of-5 shooting while Cam Isaacs tallied 13 and Dwayne Morton added 11 to lead Goucher.
Second Half
- The River Hawks came out of the locker room on fire, turning defense into offense. SU forced four turnovers over the course of the first five minutes, igniting a 16-4 run and giving Susquehanna its first lead since the 19:16 mark of the first half off a three-ball by Yurasits.
- A ferocious dunk by first-year guard Quincy Haughton (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright), in which he was also fouled, got the crowd excited and extended Susquehanna's lead to four. Haughton converted the old-fashioned three-point play, putting the River Hawks ahead 49-45 at 14:29.
- Goucher responded to even the game at 57-57 with 10:25 remaining in the contest. However, the River Hawks claimed the next nine points to bolster their lead at 66-59 with seven minutes remaining, following a tip-in by Butler, who had four points during the run.
- An alley-oop dunk by Darrell Collins, assisted by Morton, silenced the crowd momentarily, pulling the Gophers back within three at 66-63 with 5:27 remaining; however, they wouldn't get any closer.
- Susquehanna closed out the contest on a 21-4 run over the course of the final five minutes, holding the Gophers scoreless over the final 3:18.
- Goucher cooled off considerably from the field in the second half, shooting 37.5-percent from the floor and just 14.3-percent from distance. Susquehanna rebounded with a 56.3-percent performance from the floor in the second half, draining 50-percent of its three-point shots.
- Yurasits led a balanced River Hawks attack with 16 second-half points on 4-of-6 shooting from long range. Defensive intensity and hustle by Butler, in addition to his 12 second-half points, helped seal the victory for Susquehanna. LaCorte added 13 over the final 20 minutes for the River Hawks.
Inside the Box Score
- Susquehanna finished shooting 47.5-percent from the floor, including 40.7-percent from beyond the arc, as the River Hawks dropped 58 points over the final 20 minutes.
- The River Hawks forced Goucher into 28 turnovers, converting them into 28 points. Butler led the way with a team-high four steals.
- Goucher finished the game shooting 51-percent from the floor; however, the Gophers were outscored in the paint, 34-10.
- Susquehanna owned a 12-7 second chance point advantage, despite being outrebounded for the game, 35-27.
Top Performers
- Butler and Yurasits led three starters in double-digit scoring with 19 points apiece.
- Butler was also tied for the team lead with four rebounds while sophomore guard Danny Frauenheim (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J./Point Pleasant Beach) led the River Hawks with seven assists on the afternoon to go along with nine points and three rebounds.
- Isaacs led Goucher with 18 points while Morton contributed 15 points and nine rebounds. Pat Goralski finished with a double-double for the Gophers with 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
