Kaitlyn Lynch (Andover, N.J./Newton) combined for another 24 points Saturday afternoon as the Susquehanna University women's basketball team battled The Catholic University of America in Landmark Conference action. Susquehanna (13-10, 5-7 LC) dropped an 82-64 decision in D.C. as Catholic (19-4, 10-2 LC) swept the season series.
With two games left in the regular season, SU sits in the sixth spot of the conference standings.

How It Happened
First Period
- Catholic opened up with an 8-0 lead, shot nearly 47-percent in the first 10 minutes, and went 8-for-11 at the free throw line to boast a 23-8 advantage.
- The River Hawks committed 11 turnovers and made just 1-of-8 shots, getting their points from a 6-for-7 effort at the line.
Second Period
- Susquehanna finally ignited its offense as they took better care of the ball with only four miscues while shooting over 50-percent to score 21 points in the second frame.
- The Cardinals continued their pace, stretching their lead to a 23-point spread as they were 5-of-8 from downtown before heading into the locker room with a 48-29 advantage.
Halftime
- Amanda Johnson led all scorers with 13 points as Johnson was 5-of-5 with three triples.
- McQuillen paced the River Hawks with eight points as she went 5-of-7 from the charity stripe.
- Catholic generated 18 points off of 15 SU turnovers while edging the visitors, 19-17, on the boards.
Third Period
- Susquehanna used its improved shooting to chip away at the deficit, pulling within 52-39 on a three-pointer by junior guard Alexa Petrozzino (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park) halfway through the frame.
- The Cardinals dealt with a dip in their shooting as they went from 47.4-percent in the second to 26.3-percent in the third.
Fourth Period
- SU continue to plug away over the final 10 minutes, scoring 19 of the frame's first 36 points to close the gap to 78-64 with 2:07 left to go.

- After starting the game 0-for-5 from downtown, the River Hawks finished 6-for-17.
- Catholic collected 24 points off of 25 SU turnovers while edging them in rebounds, 38-35, for an 11-4 margin in second chance points.

Top Performers
- McQuillen tallied to 13 second-half points to finish with her fourth 20-point game while adding five rebounds and two assists. She shot 5-of-12 from the field with four triples and went 7-of-9 at the line.
- Esposito and Lynch both contributed a dozen points while Esposito hauled in a team-best eight boards and Lynch dished out a season-best six assists.
- Sydney Poindexter paced the Cardinals in their second straight win with a double-double on 19 points and 11 caroms.
