Dowling Nets Milestone as River Hawks Women’s Lacrosse Picks Up Third Win in a Row

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior attacker Stephanie Dowling (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Gov. Livingston) continued her torrid start to her final campaign as a River Hawk, collecting 10 points, including her 100th career point, Wednesday afternoon as the Susquehanna University women's lacrosse team won their third straight. Susquehanna (3-1) came out strong in the second half to lay a 17-8 victory on the host Lycoming College Warriors (0-2).

How It Happened
  • Dowling entered the game needing just two points for the 100th of her career and she accomplished the feat in the first two goals of the game as she scored the opening goal at 28:25 and then assisted on sophomore midfielder Katie Hoerman's (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown) tally at 22:42.
  • Dowling would assist on the River Hawks' next four goals as Susquehanna jumped out to a 6-1 lead at 12:31.
  • Attackers Caroline Chase (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) and Gabi Toohey (Oradell, N.J./River Dell) notched Susquehanna's last two goals of the first half for an 8-5 halftime lead for the River Hawks.
  • SU opened up the second half with four unanswered goals for a seven-goal cushion at 20:24.
  • After the Warriors got one back, the River Hawks scored three goals in a four-minute span, including two in 22 seconds, to bolster their lead to 15-6 at 6:49.
  • Lycoming tacked on two more to close the gap to 15-8 at 2:54 before Toohey and junior Alison Heimer (State College, Pa./State College) scored the final two goals of the game 31 seconds apart in the final minute.

  • Dowling registered her second double-digit point performance as she collected her fourth straight, and 13th career, hat trick with three goals while adding a career-best seven assists for a game-high 10 points. She added two ground balls.
  • Toohey notched a game-best four goals for her 12th career hat trick while Chase contributed five points on three goals and two assists.
  • Junior midfielder Tori Lombardi (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany Hills) and senior defender Mel Barracato (Flanders, N.J./Pope John XXIII) combined for seven ground balls with Lombardi scooping up a team-best four. Lombardi and Barracato each had team-bests of three caused turnovers as well.
  • Hoerman finished with two goals and an assist while adding a game-best five draw controls.
  • Senior captain Libby Dex (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) gave up six goals and made four stops while gaining two ground balls and a caused turnover in 53:11.
  • Hailey Kimble paced the Warriors with three goals and an assist plus three draw controls as Lycoming is still searching for its first win of 2020.
