SELINSGROVE, PA - The Men's Soccer (6-6-1) team defeated the Penn College Wildcats (3-8-4) on Wednesday evening, scoring three goals to pull to an even .500 on the season. The offense was spread among three River Hawk scorers to clinch the victory.
The game began slowly for both teams, but it was clear that Susquehanna held an advantage over Penn College, possessing the ball for the majority of the game. The River Hawk offense was able to get on the board in the 15th minute when an
Adrian Dilascio cross found
Michael Morelli in the box, as the junior was able to head home a shot from close distance.
The 1-0 score held into halftime, as the River Hawks offense continued to pace the game, but could not add to their lead.
In the second half, it was more of the same when Dilascio once again gave a great ball to his teammate, this team to
Brian McKee, who raced ahead of the Wildcat defense to score his fifth goal of the season.
With the game seemingly in the hands of Susquehanna, Penn College changed the momentum into their favor, when Mason Beaver scored his first goal of the season off a Jack Lenosky corner.
With the game now back within reach, the River Hawk offense turned up the pressure and came through with a game-sealing goal.
Kevin Ayoso ripped off a shot attempt that was saved by the Wildcats keeper but deflected directly
Olivier Mathieu, who knocked in the errant ball for the game-sealing goal.
