Men's Soccer Finishes Non-Conference Slate with a Win over Immaculata

IMMACULATA, PA – The Susquehanna University Men's Soccer took home their ninth win of their season on Wednesday night, matching their highest win total since 2015 when they also won nine games. The River Hawks scored three goals in the affair, marking their fifth straight win with at least three goals.

The first half saw a fairly even start to the game, as only a total of eight shots were attempted by both teams. The first shot on goal came from Immaculata at the ninth minute, but Gerrit Stech made a save to keep the score knotted at zero.

Susquehanna scored the first goal of the game at the 21 minute mark, when a long pass into the box was played by Brian McKee to Michael Morelli, who finished the ball with a shot into the left side of the net for the goal.

The first period of play was fairly even, as the River Hawks maintained a slim advantage, with a 6-2 advantage in shots and 4-1 advantage in corners. Susquehanna put two shots on goal, while the Mighty Macs tallied one.

The first goal of the second half came of the foot of Adrian Dilascio when a misplay by the Immaculata defender allowed Dilascio to blow by two Mighty Mac defenders and chip the shot over the goalie for the unassisted score. The goal gave Dilascio his sixth of the season and his third in his last four games.

Later, Morelli scored once more, this time in the 60th minute, off a breakaway play from Max Paczewski. Pacsewski took an Immaculata misplay on a Mighty Mac corner all the way from the Susquehanna box to the other. There, Paczewski passed off to a wide open Morelli at the center of the box, who placed a strike to the right side of the net for his second goal of the game. The goal gave Morelli his seventh goal in his last seven games.

Immaculata finally got on the board in the second half in the 67th minute, as Chad Catalana scored off a double assist. After that goal, Susquehanna only allowed the Mighty Macs to take one more shot, helping to seal the win and end the non-conference season on a high note.
