SELINSGROVE, PA - In their first action of the 2021-2022 season this past Saturday, the Susquehanna University Men's Golf team had a strong showing in a nine-hole match. The match was shortened to nine holes due to a thick fog on Saturday morning that prohibited the original start time of 8 a.m.
The nine-hole match saw the team score an overall of 169, beating Penn College, who shot a 172. Lycoming had two players at the match as well, and each shot a 46 for nine holes.
Andrew Galletta finished with the best score of the day, shooting a 37, just one over the par for the back nine of the course.
Charlie Betz shot the second best score of the day for the River Hawks with a score of 42, six over par.
The final two finishers for Susquehanna,
Trystan Layton and
Nate Sealy, each shot a 45 for the day. The two each finished nine over par on the final nine holes of the course, rounding out the team score of 169.
Mark Montoya finished the day with a 50, as the final golfer not scored as an individual.

Jake Knarr and
Ethan Tait, who shot a 52 and 56, respectively, on Saturday morning.
