Offensive Onslaught Powers Men's Basketball to First Conference Win of the Year

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA  – The Susquehanna University Men's basketball team put on an offensive show Saturday afternoon in Elizabethtown, defeating the Blue Jays 111-91. The River Hawks 111 points are the most in a single game since a 120-116 2OT to Misericordia in 2016. It was the most points in regulation for a Susquehanna team since the 2014-15 team scored 122 points against Goucher in February of 2015.

Seniors Dominic Dunn and Danny Frauenheim led the River Hawks offensively with 30 points and 25 points respectively. It was the River Hawks first contest against a conference opponent since they won the Landmark Conference Championship against Scranton in 2020.

Frauenheim had a career day, notching a double-double with 25 points and 12 assists. Dunn also had a career-high in points with 30, as he was lights out from beyond the arc, making six of seven three-pointers. Three other River Hawks saw double figures in scoring, as Howie Rankine, Jr. totaled 15 on 5-6 shooting, Lukas Yurasits contributed 19 on 7-10 shooting, and Wes Simons added 10 on 4-5 shooting.

The River Hawks started the game on fire, as they shot 62% from the field and hit nine threes in the first half, at one point leading 22-5. They held a lead for over 15 minutes in the first half, but Elizabethtown put on an offensive show of its own, shooting 65 percent with seven threes, battling back to eventually take the lead near end of the half, going into halftime up 52-51.

Coming out of the half, Susquehanna continued their dominant offensive performance, gaining a lead and holding it for the rest of half, as they lead for all but 16 seconds. As a team, they shot 62 percent and added another seven threes to their total in the second half, building a commanding lead that they held for the rest of the game.

On the day, the River Hawks shot 62 percent from the field (41-66) and 61 percent from beyond the arc, (16-26). The squad was also effective on the boards, out-rebounding E-Town 35-23 with 28 coming defensively and seven offensively.

Jalin Robinson led the Blue Jays offensively, totaling 25 points on 7-12 shooting. As a team Elizabethtown shot 54 percent on the floor (31-57) and 50 percent from three-point land (13-26), but it was not enough to overcome the Susquehanna offensive performance
