SELINSGROVE, Pa. – It was another heartbreaking loss for the Susquehanna University men's tennis team Saturday afternoon. The River Hawks (2-2, 1-2 LC) dropped their second straight match, falling 5-4 to the six-time Landmark Conference runners-up, the University of Scranton Royals (2-1, 2-1 LC).

Doubles
Sophomores
John Duncan (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) and
Joshua Sanderson (Mount Wolf, Pa./Northeastern) helped SU claim an early 1-0 lead with an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles.
Scranton tied up the match, 1-1, when seniors
James Harrington and
Tarquin McGurrin notched an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles.
Junior
Ethan Cooley (Califon, N.J./Voorhees) and first-year
Tim Basta (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) remained undefeated in doubles action, improving to 4-0 on the season, and sent Susquehanna into singles action with a 2-1 advantage following an 8-3 triumph at No. 3 doubles.
Singles
The Royals clinched the match with a 5-2 advantage as the visitors captured the first four singles matches (No. 1-4), yielding 14 games over the four matches.
Cooley maintained an unblemished singles record, rallying for his fourth straight win. He took the first set, 6-4, before falling 3-6 in the second.
Cooley came back with a 10-7 victory in the super tie break.
First-year
Alex Baker (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) earned his first win of the season in his first match of the season, taking the super tie break, 10-3, for the victory.
Baker had dropped the first set, 3-6, before rebounding with a 6-2 win in the second.
