HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Susquehanna University women's golf team (2-0, 2-0 LC) set the school record for lowest team round Tuesday afternoon at a wet Huntingdon Country Club, handing the host Juniata College Eagles a 354-394 setback in a Landmark Conference dual match.
In golfing a 354, the River Hawks broke the old record of 366 tallied in the third round of the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical (Ariz.) University Spring Invitational on March 12, 2019.
Senior captain
Sarah Rieder (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton), junior
Ella Moores (Abbottstown, Pa.), and sophomore
Davis Ann Boyd (Pittsburgh, Pa./Newton (N.J.)) all carded an 84 as did Juniata's sophomore
Sofia Amoroso. All four shared medalist honors.
Rounding out the team scoring was first-year
Erin Hahn (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) who finished tied for sixth with a 102.
Sophomore
Julie Nield (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) posted a 111 as an individual.
Susquehanna returns to action tomorrow, Wednesday, April 14, heading to the Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic to face the University of Scranton and Drew University in a Landmark tri-match. Tee time is 1:00 p.m.
