SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna University women's lacrosse team scored 10 goals in the second half to turn around an 8-5 deficit into their third Landmark Conference victory of the season Sunday afternoon on Senior Day. Susquehanna (3-3, 3-3 LC) notched its second win over Elizabethtown College this season, posting a 15-10 decision over the visiting Blue Jays (1-7, 1-7 LC).

Colbie Cummings (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholic), captains
Nicole Hauck (Annandale, N.J./North Hunterdon),
Tori Lombardi (Morris Plains, N.J./Parsippany Hills), and
Mary Vilardi (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Regional), and
Sarah Bobrowski (Bloomsbury, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) – for their years of dedication to the women's lacrosse program.
How It Happened
Elizabethtown drew first blood just shy of two minutes into the game as senior attacker
Lexie Sharp found the back of the net for her first of five on the day. Back-to-back goals from junior captain
Katie Hoerman (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown), including a man-down goal, and one from
Hauck had the River Hawks on top, 3-1, with 22:23 left in the first half.
The Blue Jays notched five of the next goals to stake a 6-4 lead with 4:06 remaining in the first half.
Sharp had three goals and two assists in the 5-1 run. First-year midfielder
Madi Mitchell (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) made it a one-goal game before halftime with an unassisted goal with 2:26 left on the clock.
Etown used a 3-1 run to start the second half and post its biggest lead of the game, 9-6, with 18:09 left in the game. It was all Susquehanna from that point on as the River Hawks rattled off five unanswered goals to claim their first lead of the game, 11-9, since leading 3-1 at the 22:23 mark of the first half. Hannah Cressman interrupted the run with her second score of the season, pulling the Blue Jays within one with 6:21 to go.
Susquehanna went on to score four goals in the final 5:25 of the game to wrap up its second win in its last three games.
Top Performers
Junior attacker
Caroline Chase (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) scored five times and assisted one to finish with six points as
Chase recorded her fifth hat trick of 2021.
Mitchell and
Hauck also tallied hat tricks with three goals apiece.
First-year
Bea Daudelin (Baltimore, Md./Western Tech) improved to 2-1 in goal as
Daudelin scooped up a game- and season-best eight ground balls and added a game-high four caused turnovers while making 10 saves.
First-year midfielder
Kelsey Homberg (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) continued her command of the midfield with a game-best six draw controls.
Sharp finished the game with game-highs of five goals and seven points while adding five draw controls. In goal, senior
Jennifer Beihoff made 15 saves and had two ground balls.
