Susquehanna Women’s Tennis Falls to Moravian

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The win streak for the Susquehanna University women's tennis team was once again halted at one as Susquehanna (2-4, 2-3 LC) was shutout by the visiting Moravian College Greyhounds (6-0, 5-0 LC) Sunday afternoon on Senior Day.

Seniors Nicole Brintzenhoff (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh), Hannah Maykut (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley), Christina Rudderow (Blandon, Pa./Fleetwood Area), the team captain, and Holly Young (Olyphant, Pa./Valley View) were honored at the end of the match for their dedication to the women's tennis program over the past four years.

How It Happened
Doubles
Moravian only lost a game in capturing No. 2 and No. 3 doubles for a 2-0 lead.

The Greyhounds had a fight on their hands with the tandem of junior Ashlynn Searer (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) and sophomore Grace Tepes (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) at No. 1 but Moravian came out on top, 8-4.

Singles
Moravian continued to roll in singles play, dropping only six games in capturing No. 3, No. 2, and No. 1 singles for the match win and 6-0 advantage. For Searer at No. 1 singles, it was her first singles loss of the season, snapping a five-match win streak.

First-year Julie Bramley (Elizabethtown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) won the most games of any River Hawk as Bramley took five before falling 4-6, 1-6 to sophomore Julianne Cassady at No. 4 singles.
