BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Susquehanna University men's lacrosse team squandered an 8-4 halftime lead Saturday afternoon in falling to the host Moravian College Greyhounds in Landmark Conference action. Moravian (3-0, 1-0 LC) turned a four-goal deficit into a 13-11 victory over the River Hawks (0-4, 0-2 LC) to remain undefeated this season. It was the first time in four games this season that SU has scored in double figures.
How It Happened
Susquehanna established a 3-0 lead with 3:05 left in the first quarter with three goals in a four-minute span. Three different River Hawks found the back of the net in the first 15 minutes.
The Greyhounds finally got on the scoreboard 55 seconds into the second period and then the two sides alternated the six scores as Moravian closed the gap to 6-4 with 5:41 remaining in the first half. SU would notch the final two goals of the half to head into halftime with an 8-4 lead.

Charles Braught IV (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) led all players at the break with three points while

Kobi Buffa (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) each had two goals for Susquehanna.
Moravian regrouped during halftime and responded by opening up the second half with four straight goals, including back-to-back goals from senior attackman
Cade Siddron, to knot the game at 8-8 with 5:14 left in the third. The River Hawks last lead of the game came on a goal by first-year midfielder
Cameron McKee (Bloomingburg, N.Y./Don Bosco Prep (N.J.)) with 1:03 left in third, sending SU into the fourth with a 9-8 lead.
The Greyhounds would outscore Susquehanna, 5-2, in the final period as Moravian began the fourth with four unanswered scores to stake a 12-9 lead with 7:11 left in the game. First-year midfielder
Jason Carey (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown South) and
Buffa pulled the River Hawks within one with 4:20 on the clock.
However, the Greyhound defense forced SU into four turnovers and limited the visitors to just one off-target shot in the final minutes. Moravian tacked on an insurance goal with 1:38 remaining.
Top Performers
Buffa finished the afternoon with season-bests of three goals and three points while
Braught tallied his first points of the season, finishing with three on two goals and an assist.
McKee also contributed three points on two goals and an assist plus added six ground balls.
Sophomore
Ryan Prum (Secane, Pa./Ridley) had a career day at the X, winning 17-of-24 face-offs with 11 ground balls.
Junior
Daniel Clendenny (Randolph, N.J./Morris Catholic) made his first career start, coming up with career-highs of five saves, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers in 53:22.
Siddron led all scorers with five goals and two assists for seven points while junior midfielder
Ben Walek went 9-of-26 in face-offs with four ground balls. Senior long-stick midfielder
Jimmy Schicke led the Greyhound defense with seven ground balls and five caused turnovers while sophomore goalie
Sean DeMott made eight stops in Moravian's third consecutive win.
