SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Moravian College overcame an 8-6 halftime deficit Saturday afternoon to notch a win over the Susquehanna University women's lacrosse team. Susquehanna (1-2, 1-2 Landmark) pulled within one midway through the second half but could not regain the lead as the Greyhounds (3-2, 3-2 Landmark) snapped their two-game skid with a 14-12 Landmark Conference victory.
How It Happened
Moravian had a quick start out of the gate, putting up four unanswered goals for a 4-0 lead nearly eight and a half minutes into the first half. Senior midfielder
Megan McMullan paced the Greyhounds in the run with two goals and an assist.
Junior attacker
Caroline Chase (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) responded for the River Hawks with a pair of goals to cut the deficit to 4-2 with 17:33 left in the first half. After another
McMullan score, Susquehanna rattled off three unanswered goals to knot the game at 5-5 with 7:02 until halftime. First-year attacker
Lexie Robinson slowed down SU's momentum, returning the lead to Moravian with an unassisted goal at 5:50.
The River Hawks ended the half by scoring the final three goals, including back-to-back goals by senior captain
Tori Lombardi (Morris Plains, N.J./Parsippany Hills), to claim an 8-6 halftime advantage.
Each side had a goal to begin the second half, maintaining the two-goal SU lead. However, Moravian broke through with another 4-0 run to retake the lead, 11-9, with 20:15 remaining in the game. The River Hawks would come within twice in the final 18 minutes but sophomore goalie
Brelyn Friedman made six saves down the stretch to keep Susquehanna at bay and help the Greyhounds hold on for the win.

Chase recorded her second hat trick of the season, finishing the afternoon with team-bests of three goals and two assists for five points while junior captain
Katie Hoerman (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown) added a goal and two helpers.

Madi Mitchell (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) each tallied two goals.
Chase scooped up a career-best seven ground balls and collected a career-high two caused turnovers to help out defensively while senior captain
Mary Vilardi (, N.J./) matched her career-best with five ground balls.

Sophomore
Emmaleen Regan (Monroe, N.J./Monroe Township) posted a career-best 18 saves in her first career start.
McMullan had game-highs of three assists and seven points to lead Moravian while junior midfielder
Lindsey Strohl tallied a game-best five goals.
McMullan also paced the Greyhounds with seven draw controls, six ground balls, and three caused turnovers while
Friedman finished the game with 15 saves and three ground balls.
