WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After 527 days away from the links, the Susquehanna University men's golf team competed for the first time Wednesday afternoon, taking on Lycoming College and Penn College in a tri-match at the par-71, 6,583-yard Williamsport Country Club. The River Hawks (1-1) defeated Lycoming (0-2), 335-468, but fell 328-335 to Penn College (2-0).
Susquehanna was golfing for the first time since October 28, 2019, at the Cabrini College Invitational in Exton, Pa.
Senior captain
Chris Bouchard (Oakdale, Conn./Montville) and sophomore
Devin Peart (Littlestown, Pa./Littlestown) finished tied for second out of 18 golfers as they both posted an 80. Both Bouchard and Peart tallied a birdie at Hole 6, a par 5.
Senior
Logan Kern (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) wasn't far behind, carding an 84 for fifth place.
Rounding out the team scoring was junior
Andrew Galletta (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) who was 10th with a 91. First-year
Nate Sealy (Seneca Falls, N.Y./Mynderse Academy) competed as an individual and tallied a 93 for 11th.
Penn College's sophomore
Kohltin Bartlow captured medalist honors with a 7-over 77.
The River Hawks return to action on Sunday, April 11, hosting the Susquehanna Spring Invitational at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club. Tee time is 1:00 p.m.
