Selinsgrove, Pa. – The Men's Tennis team earned their first win of their 2021-2022 season, winning handily against the Lycoming Warriors, obtaining victory in eight of the nine matches.
Men's #1 singles player
Emil Vyskocil (Cornwall-On-Hudson,NY/Cornwalll) lead the way for the his team, winning his matches by 6-3 and 6-1 to take the #1 singles victory.
Vyskocil also won his #1 doubles match with
Conor Ryan (Bloomsbury, PA/Central Columbia) in an exciting game, with the final of the match being 8-7.
In the #2 singles match,
Joshua Sanderson (Mount Wolf, PA/Northeastern) had an early lead that would have likely netted him a standard win, but his opponent retired before the competition could conclude.
Sanderson won his doubles match in the #2 doubles with
John Duncan (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia), 8-1.
Duncan was able to win his singles match as well, in the #5 singles competition, 6-0 and 6-2.
In the #3 singles,
Tim Basta (Downingtown,PA/Downingtown West) played a close match before falling in the final set. However, in the #3 doubles match,
Basta and
Ethan Cooley (Califon, NJ/Voorhees) were able to take an 8-2 win.
In the final two singles' matches,
Kyle Wagner (Milton, PA/Milton Area) and
Carson Barry (Seaside Park, NJ/Donovan Catholic) both clinched wins in two sets.
