DALLAS, PA (September 21, 2021) -- The Susquehanna University women's tennis team trailed 2-1 after doubles at Misericordia University, but couldn't make the comeback as the River Hawks fell to the host Cougars 7-2 in action from the MU Courts.
After Misericordia picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 2, Julie Bromely and
Isabella Scappaticci would help trim the Cougars lead to 2-1 with a nice 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, the best match of the day came at No. 3 singles, as
Anna Ream battled back from a first-set loss to take the second set 6-3 and super-tiebreaker for a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7) win for SU.
Eliza Mahoney also battled in a hard fought match at No. 6 singles, as she took the first set 6-2 before falling 6-2 in the second set. In the super tie-breaker, Mahoney and Nicole Pangiochi were back-and-forth before the MU player earned the 12-10 win.
The River Hawks are back in action Saturday at home at 1 p.m., hosting Lebanon Valley College on the Susquehanna Courts.
