SELINSGROVE, PA (February 19, 2022) -- The Susquehanna University men's lacrosse team lifted the lid on its 2022 season Saturday afternoon, netting a pair of late goals to pull away from visiting Lycoming College as the River Hawks earned a 7-5 non-conference victory in play from Sassafras Field.

The Warriors (0-1) scored first, but Susquehanna scored five straight to take a 5-1 lead early in the second quarter after a goal by Chris Ciccarello. Lycoming battled back to tie the game at five, but the River Hawks (1-0) scored with just under seven mintues to play in regulation to make it 6-5. The River Hawks had three players with two points, as Faggioli tallied twice on three shots in his first collegiate game. Brennan Lorence and Kieran Thomas each had a goal and an assist, while Jack Gaillard netted the game-winner in the fourth quarter. Steven Musser also scored for Susquehanna, as six difference first-year players notched goals on the night.
