CARLISLE, PA (February 23, 2022) -- No. 17 Dickinson College scored the first six goals of the game Wednesday evening, using that run to knock off the Susquehanna University men's lacrosse team and hand the River Hawks their first loss of the 2022 campaign in a 16-5 contest from Biddle Field in Carlisle, PA.
Susquehanna (1-1) got down early, as the Red Devils (2-0) rattled off the first five tallies including three from Matt Thurston to take a 5-0 lead into the second quarter. Owen Porter finished the 6-0 spurt to open the contest before SU got on the board thanks to a scored from first-year

After the break, the Red Devils seized control of the game with the first six goals of the second half before
Victor Simone netted his first goal of the 2022 season with 1:11 remaining in the third quarter.
Sean Carothers and Lorence each scored in the fourth quarter but the Red Devils had enough to pick up their second victory of the season.
Dickinson outshot Susquehanna 55-34 for the contest, but the differences came in the clear department as DC was 21-of-25 while SU posted a 14-for-25 rate. Individually, Lorence tallied three goals on seven shots, adding six ground balls and two caused turnovers in his second collegiate game. Defender

Aidan Kennedy had another strong game with a team-high three caused turnovers and two ground balls, while
Jack Gaillard,
Ryan Prum and
Ted Zaborowski each had three ground balls.
Junior
Jozef Korpics made 11 stops in net for the River Hawks, adding two caused turnovers, while
Augie Granatelli stopped one shot while playing the last 15 minutes between the pipes. Prum finished 11-of-16 at the face-off dot, winning a very solid 68.7 percent for the evening.
Thurston finished with a game-high four goals and five points, while Skyler Schluter finished with a goal and three assists. Porter and James Isaacson each scored three goals as well, and Chris Brandau made four saves to get the win.
