SELINSGROVE, PA (March 5, 2022) -- The visiting Green Terror of McDaniel College used a 7-1 run late in the third quarter into the fourth to pull away from the Susquehanna University women's lacrosse team for a final score of 18-13 in non-conference play from Sassafras Field Saturday afternoon.
It was a game of runs all day for both teams, as McDaniel (3-0) scored six of the game's first eight goals to lead 6-2 after the first 15 minutes. Acadia Noll tallied three times for the Green Terror, while first-year

Caroline Chase netted the two first-quarter scores for SU.
In the second quarter, momentum swung heavily to the River Hawks as they scored five straight to take a 7-6 lead. During the stretch,
Hannah McNamara and Chase each scored twice while Owen tallied as well to put SU up with 2:26 to go in the first half. McDaniel's Emma Legacy would tallied with the women advantage right before halftime to send the game to break deadlocked 7-7.
After the intermission, McDaniel scored three straight times to take a 10-7 lead but a quick 3-1 spurt by the River Hawks pulled the hosts to within one at 11-10. That's as close as Susquehanna (3-2) would get the rest of the way, as a
Kelsey Homberg was the only score in-between seven goals from the Green Terror as they ran away with the victory.
Chase added another strong game for Susquehanna, posting seven points on five goals and two assists, adding three ground balls in the loss. Owen finished with three goals and an assist, while McNamara also tallied three times to go with three ground balls and five draw controls.
Caitlin Harvey finished with a goal and an assist, tallying three ground balls, and Homberg led the team with six draw controls in addition to two caused turnovers and two ground balls. Sophomore
Madi Mitchell had a strong game with a team-leading seven ground balls, a career-high, while
Liz Hordesky led all River Hawks with four caused turnovers.
Katie Quackenboss also contributed two caused turnovers and three ground balls.

Emmy Regan stopped 11 shots for the River Hawks, who were outshot 41-29 for the game. The difference in the midfield was on clear attempts, as Susquehanna went 16-for-25 while McDaniel was able to settle 14 of their 17 chances.
The Green Terror got seven points from Kealey Allison on four goals and three assists, while Noll finished with team-highs of five goals, five ground balls and six draw controls. Emma Miller also scored twice to go with five ground balls and five draw controls and Caroline Ramsey stopped 10 shots to earn the victory in net.
