WILLIAMSPORT, PA (September 14, 2022) -- The Susquehanna University men's tennis team moved to 2-0 on the young season Wednesday, powering by local rival Lycoming College 9-0 in action from Brandon Park.
The River Hawks (2-0) saw five members of their team earn two victories on the day, including No. 1 doubles and singles participant
Joshua Sanderson. Susquehanna swept through doubles with relative ease, as Sanderson and
John Duncan knocked off Luke Leach and Nathan Redell 8-4 at the top spot.
In No. 2 doubles,
Thomas Hallahan and
Tim Basta picked up an 8-4 win over Jason Anderson and Mohamed Ebeid while
Gavin Ream and
Conor Ryan topped their opponents at No. 3 doubles 8-2.
In singles action, Sanderson earned a straight set win with scores of 6-3, 6-1 while Basta was also a winner at No. 2 with the same scores of 6-3, 6-1. Duncan topped Anderson 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles, and
Flemming Brockmann moved to 2-0 on the year with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 5 spot. Ryan also had little issues at No. 6 singles, as he knocked off Brian Hulsey 6-0, 6-1 in the final single's position.
