ANNVILLE, PA (September 18, 2022) – The Susquehanna University Men's Tennis team continued their fall schedule on Sunday as they traveled to face Lebanon Valley College. The River Hawks produced some closely fought matches but ultimately would prove to be outmatched on the day, as LVC topped SU 8-1.

Susquehanna fell behind early, with the pairing of Tim Basta and Thomas Hallahan falling 1-8 at #2 doubles before Gavin Ream and Conor Ryan lost shortly after at #3 doubles by a score of 3-8. #1 doubles was a closely fought affair, but also went the way of LVC, as Joshua Sanderson and John Duncan fell by a score of 6-8.

With LVC leading 3-0 after doubles play, it didn't take long for them to seal the defeat of the River Hawks, as Ream fell 1-6, 1-6 at #5 singles and Ryan went down 2-6, 1-6 at #6 singles in short order to give LVC the necessary five overall points needed to win the matchup. They continued to claim consecutive victories, with SU seeing Hallahan fall 0-6, 3-6 at #4 singles, Sanderson falling by that same 0-6, 3-6 scoreline at #1 singles, and Basta going down 4-6, 2-6 at #2 singles. After LVC tallied those eight straight points, SU was able to avoid the sweep with a last gasp victory at #3 singles. Duncan won by a score of 6-4, 6-4.

Now 2-2, the SU men will prepare to hit the road again next weekend to take part in the King's College Invitational on September 24 & 25, beginning at 9 am on both days.
