SUFH Remain Undefeated on the Road With 3-0 Victory Over Neumann

ASTON, PA (September 29, 2022) – Susquehanna University Field Hockey hit the road again on Thursday afternoon after having another away matchup just two days prior. This time, they faced Neumann University and produced a dominant display to earn their seventh away win and fourth overall win in a row, topping the Knights 3-0.

The River Hawks took control of proceedings from the opening whistle and never looked back, launching a deluge of offensive attacks that persisted throughout, as SU tallied a hefty 26 shots in the match, with 18 on goal. Neumann would be utterly stifled offensively, finishing with just two shots, both of which came in the fourth period after they had already fallen well behind.

Junior Sarah McAndrews continued her scoring streak, scoring the match opener just three minutes in and making it four consecutive games with a goal. Less than ten minutes later, Susquehanna notched their second goal through Katie Bucher, who scored off of a penalty corner and an assist from Annalee Smith.

Despite continuing their onslaught through the next two periods, the third goal did not come for the River Hawks until midway through the final period, as first-year Emma Campitelli scored SU's third goal while also tallying her third goal of the season. She was able to get her stick on a shot from Bucher to deflect it slightly past the goalkeeper, giving Bucher an assist to go with her goal.

Now 7-3 on the season, the River Hawks will hope that their dominance on the road can translate to home soil, as their next match sees them return to Selinsgrove on Saturday, October 1 to host Landmark Conference opponent Moravian University. SU began their Landmark campaign with a road win over Elizabethtown College last week, having gotten all seven of their wins on the road in 2022. They'll hope to take their first home win and move to 2-0 in the conference on Saturday, with the match beginning at 1 pm.
