WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Susquehanna women's volleyball team breezed through Wilkes in a Landmark Conference road trip Friday night, catalyzed by a nearly-flawless first set where they garnered a .548 kill percentage on 19 kills with just two errors in a 25-14 victory, followed by 25-20 and 25-19 victories to even their conference record to 4-4. The River Hawks currently stand in sixth place in the Landmark Conference standings, with a much-anticipated road matchup Saturday at Moravian, currently in seventh place at 3-5 in the Landmark, to decide the final spot for the conference tournament.
Susquehanna's nightly totals accounts for a .354 kill percentage on 46 kills and 12 errors, compared to Wilkes' .182 on 29 kills and 13 errors.
Emily Kowalski led with 14 kills, while
Amanda Gore was right behind with 11 kills and three total blocks.
Sami Kline connected for eight kills, with
Keira Roach netting 12 assists and
Delaney McCoy ten assists. The River Hawks collected nine service aces on the evening, backed by a team-high four from
Jessica Sack and two each from
Callie Wince and
Maddy Kempski.
Megan Currie has the lone remaining ace. On the defensive side
Valerie Stoltz led with 14 digs. Kowalski had three total blocks, including one solo, while Kline recorded a pair of block assists and one BA each from Gore and Currie.Â
