WASHINGTON, D.C. - Susquehanna men's soccer took on Catholic University on Tuesday night, falling 3-0 behind Gordie Bernlohr's brace. The Hawks were outshot 26-4 on the night, including 17 Cardinal efforts in the second 45 minutes en route to the defeat.
The River Hawks again conceded early, falling a goal behind in the 2nd minute through Bernlohr. They tallied two shots in each period, including their only shot on target, an effort from
Adrian Dilascio that was saved as it headed towards the bottom right corner.
The Cardinals, however, had ten of their 26 shots on target, forcing goalkeeper
Tony Burns to make seven saves, four in the first half and three in the second. They won the corner kick battle as well, 7-3, despite not having a corner in the first half, having all seven in the second stanza.
In addition to Dilascio, the River Hawks got single shots from
Tom O'Keefe,
Angelo Zografos, and
MJ Dungo, all off target.
The River Hawks are in action again as part of a soccer doubleheader this coming Saturday, taking on Elizabethtown College at 1:00 PM. The defeat drops them to 2-6-2 from their opening ten games, and 0-3 in the Landmark Conference.
