SELINSGROVE, PA - The Susquehanna men's golf team played Juniata in a weekend series, beginning with the River Hawks welcoming the Eagles to Susquehanna Valley Country Club on Saturday and Juniata in turn inviting Susquehanna Sunday to their Huntingdon Country Club. JC won the Saturday contest by a 311-322 margin, while SU delivered a 324-333 victory Sunday.
The River Hawks maintained their lineup throughout the weekend, with Johnathan Spohn leading the team Saturday with a 76 (+6) for second overall. Juniata's Harrison Levithan posted a 73 (+3) score to lead the first day, with two more Eagles taking third and fourth from Ben Pintof's 77 (+7) and Kyle Ritterback's 78 (+8). SU's
Charlie Betz was next on the team scoring with an 81 (+11), while newcomer
David Birmingham earned an 82 (+12).
Liam Dima netted an 83 (+13), while
Grant Kuffa scored an 86 (+16). Individual competitor
Patrick Bova carded an 81 (+11).
On Sunday Susquehanna took the top three individual spots to guide them to the team victory, while individual competitor Bova earned fourth with an 82 (+11). Betz and Kuffa each scored a 79 (+8) to share the top spot on the leaderboard as Spohn scored an 80 (+9). JC's leading scorer came from Ethan Brown, who had an 82 (+11), while three more Eagles placed underneath him with one 83 (+12) from Ben Pintof and 84 scores (+13) from Harrison Levithna and Kyle Rittersbach. Dima provided an 86 score (+15) score, while Birmingham shot a 90 (+19).
Susquehanna currently has one more match on its fall schedule with the Landmark Conference Preview at the Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort in Delaware, Pa., hosted by Drew and Goucher.
