SELINSGROVE, PA. (March 18, 2023) – The Susquehanna University men's tennis team returned to the Garrett Courts Saturday, opening up their spring and Landmark Conference season against Catholic. The Cardinals took an 8-1 victory.
The River Hawks got their lone win of the day when the three doubles tandem of
Alex Baker and
Carson Barry prevailed in a tiebreaker over Henry Ogden and Nathaniel Barish 8-7 (7). The number-one tandem of Josh Sanderson and
Kyle Wagner went to a tiebreaker versus Allan Van Nostrand and James Earwood, but the Cardinals pair pulled out the 8-7 (3) win.
At four singles,
Thomas Hallahan went three sets against Matt Rudolf, overcoming a 6-4 first-set defeat with a tiebreaking win in set two, 7-6 (6). However Rudolf pulled out a more decisive 10-2 victory in set three.
The River Hawks' next contest sees them heading to Scranton for more Landmark action next Saturday, Mar. 25.
