BALTIMORE, MD (April 16, 2023) – The Susquehanna University men's tennis team headed to Baltimore Sunday to face Goucher in Landmark Conference action, falling to the second-place Gophers by an 8-1 score.
Carson Barry provided the River Hawks' lone win on the day at six singles, defeating Theo Lucke with an impressive opening-frame victory 6-2, then pulling out a tough-fought 7-5 victory in set two.
The three doubles team of
Kyle Wagner and
Gavin Ream served as the orange and maroon's closest doubles matchup at three in the form of an 8-5 score versus Gabe Naftoly and Theo Lucke.
Joshua Sanderson played Angel Cerpa close at one singles, with Cerpa winning by 6-4 and 6-3 scores.
The River Hawks have two more matches on their regular season slate, finishing out their Landmark season at Juniata Wednesday, April 19 at 4:00 p.m., followed by a non-conference matchup at King's next Sunday, April 23 at 1:00 p.m.
